The Horsebridge Website
Artist: Richard Bradbury with Andrew Sabin and Doug Brown
This is the first commission to be up and running within the Horsebridge
project. The website for the Horsebridge development aims to offer
information and document the whole project, and also to act in a
way which mirrors the development process itself. The site is therefore
created with an overall design and structure (by the artists), but
to make its content work, it depends upon the contributions of a
variety of people and organisations working together.
There are sections about all aspects of the development, which
have been contributed from diverse sources within the development
team and also within Whitstable:
- a local publican hosts the three webcams which provide a constant
image of the site
- Doug Brown acts as information gatherer to create the image
archives and mini slide shows of the old site and the new
- Clague architects have provided a link direct to their site
to expand on the architectural design
- We hope to begin incorporating artworks made by other Whitstable
based artists which relate to the site
As you move through the website you will see the other features,
particularly the news items and the information on the various people
involved. When the construction is over and the new buildings become
occupied, the website will be handed on as a resource for the new
community arts centre - the real core of the development. Hopefully
in the next few years, this web address will be directing you to
exhibitions, performances and events happening in the heart of the
town.
